Dr. Faulkner is the staff surgeon at Gateway Animal Hospital. Dr. Faulkner is a 1971 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to attending Auburn University and obtaining his DVM degree, Dr. Faulkner attended the University of Florida where he graduated with a BS degree. Dr. Faulkner also served 5 years in the US Army Veterinary Corps. In 1976, Dr. Faulkner attended the University of Minnesota where completed a one year Surgical Internship and a three year Small Animal Surgical Residency. He also completed a Master's degree in veterinary surgery.

In 1982, Dr. Faulkner came to the St. Petersburg area and set up his surgical practice. Dr. Faulkner has performed surgical services for many hospital in Pinellas County. In addition, he has provided surgical services for the SPCA of Pinellas County. Dr. Faulkner also has extensive experience in veterinary emergency medicine and was the manager and chief clinician for over six years at the Animal Emergency Clinic in St. Petersburg.
